The virtual world of Second Life grows continuously

Just as if it were a dependency of Las Vegas, in the Second Life casinos, you have the possibility to choose a table to play, as well as the partners you want to share it with and you can even order a drink if you want to.

With the intention of avoiding suspicions, the game creators, Linden Labs, have invited the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to visit the facilities of the city casinos in order to check and determine if what is done there is legal or not.

“It’s not clear for us if, legally talking, the simulation in 3D of a casino is the same as a casino itself”, assured Ginsu Yoon, business area vice-president for Second Life. “Although it seems not to be clear for the authorities we have gone to either”, he added.

The truth is that the internal laws of Second Life, dictated by Linden Labs and whose non-fulfillment implies the immediate expulsion, forbids “illegal activities”. But if there is no knowledge about those exact activities, the company cannot assume the responsibilities.
